She was born July 9, 1917 in Richfield, IL, the daughter of Aura W. and Esta McCarl Redman. On July 28, 1942 she married Lozelle H. Cleaves. He preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 1997.
Mrs. Cleaves was a Charter Member of Hope Presbyterian Church. Other memberships include, Retired Teachers Association, P.E.O. chapter ES, and the Sangamon County Farm Bureau.
She loved Taking care of the flowers in her garden, collecting antiques, and was an avid reader.
She is survived by four nieces and nephews, John C. (wife, Pat) Redman of Payson, IL, Janet Redman Wittmuss of Springfield, Mary K. Redman Miller of Quincy, and Roger (wife, Karen) Likes of Hannibel, MO; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by and infant daughter, Susan C. Cleaves; a sister, Rachel Likes; two brothers, John L. Redman and William "Bill" Redman.
Services will be private for the family.
