
Marjorie O’Brien of Springfield died at St. John’s Hospice. Majorie was born in Virden, IL the daughter of Vincent and Katherine Dolinsek Pikel. She married Fred O’Brien and he preceded her in death. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and St. Joseph’s Home Coterie. Marjorie retired from Sangamo Electric where she had been employed for seventeen years. She had also been employed by the State of Illinois as an Accountant II. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Frank Pikel and sisters: Christine DePirro, Mary Record and Zelda Pikel. She is survived by her daughter: Beverly (husband, Gary) Osing of Germantown, TN, grandchildren: Fred Charles (wife, Alison) Osing of Mobile, AL, Rudy Joseph Osing of Germantown, TN; great grandchildren: Lillian Huston Osing and Charles Evans Osing both of Mobile, AL; sisters: Mary Ann Gaydos of Chatham and Frances Gorsek of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2004 at Blessed Sacrament Church. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2004 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Rev. Msgr. Kevin Vann celebrant. Burial will follow in Auburn Cemetery, Auburn, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Seven County Kidney Fund, 701 N. 1st St., Springfield, IL 62781. The family of Marjorie O’Brien is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
