Mark G. Magill

Mark was born August 9, 1952 in Springfield, the son of Robert M. and Helen R. Magill.

Mark graduated from Griffin High School and attended Springfield College in Illinois. He earned his bachelor's degree at Western Illinois University and was employed with the State of Illinois for 35 years until his retirement. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, enjoyed cooking, golfing, biking, and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his son, Ryan (wife, Courtney) Magill of Bloomington; daughter, Courtney (husband, Chris) Gotsch of Huntley; grandchildren, Rowan, Logan, Connor, and Carley Magill, and Peyton and Lucas Gotsch; his mother, Helen Magill; siblings, Michael (wife, Barbara) Magill of Freeburg, Jeffrey (wife, Anne) Magill of Springfield, James (Elizabeth Collins) Magill of Fraser, CO, Thomas (wife, Elyse) Magill of Riverwoods, IL, Molly (husband, Jeff) Fortuna of Louisville, CO, Elizabeth Magill of Golden, CO, and Kate Morgan of Lakewood, CO; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

Memorial Ceremony and Gathering: 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Rev. Msgr. Thomas Holinga officiating. Family will receive friends following the ceremony until 7:00 p.m.

Private burial will be held at a later date.
