Marshall Park Mitchell, 83, of Springfield, died Friday, March 9, 2001 at St. John's Hospital. He was born January 29, 1917, the son of Elijah Park and Grace Clayton Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell was a self employed Artist and Sculptor, where he did some contractual work with Rubin Donnelly CO. He also had owned and operated Marshall Mitchell Printing and Art Studio. He served on the Springfield Park District. He was preceeded in death by a daughter, Judith Killen, four brothers, Julian, Harley, Richard and E.P. Mitchell and one sister, Peggy Huddleston. Surviving are two daughters, Kelly Mitchell of St. Louis, MO and Patricia (Husband-Barry) Becker of Springfield, IL: six grandchildren, Ten Great Grandchildren and Several Nieces and Nephews. The family of Marshall Park Mitchell is being served by Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 So. 6th St., where friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services at 10:00 A.M. Monday. the Rev. Robert Becker officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Mary Bryant Home for the Blind, 2960 Stanton, Springfield, IL 62703.
