Martha 'Gia' Block, 96, of Springfield, died at 12:20 a.m., Sunday, May 15, 2005 at Heritage Manor. Martha was born September 6, 1908 in Kewanee, the daughter of Frank and Barbara Kraulidas Belsky. She married Bruno Block in 1934; he preceded her in death June 26, 1965. Mrs. Block was employed by the Department of Children and Family Services, she retired in 1973. She was also preceded by her daughter: Patricia Urbanckas; two brothers and one sister. She is survived by two grandchildren: Thomas Urbanckas and Debbie (husband, Bob) Jemison both of Springfield; five great grandchildren; and one sister: Bert Stuhlsatz of Kewanee. Family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. William Carpenter C.S.V. celebrating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1305 Wabash, Springfield, IL 62704.
