Martin Charles ''Marty'' Stevens, 39, of Springfield passed away at 9:07 p.m., Monday May 7, 2001 at St. John's Hospital. Martin was born December 13, 1961 the son of Jim and Joyce Ruble Stevens in Springfield. Mr. Stevens a graduate of Williamsville High School recently began working for Wright Tree Services. He previously worked for Ursuline Academy. He was a member of Local Union #51. He was also a member of the Illini Bass Club and a member of the Springfield Jaycees. He is survived by his parents: Jim Stevens of Springfield and Joyce Stevens of Springfield; one son: Charles Alvin Stevens 11 years old; one daughter Lindsey Meig Stevens 3 years old; two brothers Jimmy (wife, Debbie) Stevens of Springfield, Bill Stevens of Springfield; two sisters: Teresa (husband, Les) Straub of Springfield, Gail (husband, Tom) McColley of Indianapolis, IN; one grandmother: Florence Ruble; several nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts and uncles. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 4-7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2001. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 11, 2001 at Calvary Cemetery with Reverend Patrick Render CSV officiating.
