

Mary Kay Allison, 54, of Springfield passed away at 6:18 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at St. John's Hospice. Mary Kay was born on December 17, 1955 in Springfield, the daughter of Glenn E. and Dolores J. Kaufman Allison. She was a graduate of Williamsville High School in 1973 and attended Lincoln Land Community College. She began her career at St. John's Hospital and then continued to Memorial Medical Center, Prairie Cardiovascular Center and H.D. Smith. She was also co-owner of CityScape Communications. She was a member of Church of the Little Flower. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, cruising and spending time with her grandson and her cats. Mary Kay was preceded in death by her mother, Dolores J. Allison. She is survived by her two sons, Steven (wife, Rebecca) Horrighs, Jr. of Chicago and Joshua Horrighs of Springfield; the greatest grandson that ever lived, Hayden Michael Horrighs; her father, Glenn E. Allison of Sherman; siblings, Michael (wife, Karen) Allison of Grosse Pointe Farms, MI, Sharon (husband, David) Jones of Pawnee and Stephen (wife, Cynthia) Allison of Williamsville; aunt, Dorothy Gallenbach; uncle, Kenneth (wife, Alice) Kaufman; two nieces, Elizabeth and Shannon; five nephews, Blake, Eric, Bryce, Kyle and Matthew and several cousins. Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 12, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July, 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 902 St. John's Dr., Sherman with Rev. Msgr. Carl Kemme, V.G., celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 687 E. Linton Ave., Springfield, IL 62703 or masses.
