Mary was born February 28, 1949, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Edward and Grace (Macdonald) Pershing.
Mary was an intelligent, independent, private person and was the foundation of strength within the family. She was always there for her son and daughter and lived in love of her children and grandchildren. Mary was a selfless, hardworking, and giving woman, who gave so much and asked so little. She was a rock to her son and daughter and her wisdom and unconditional love, and support will be missed beyond words. Mary lived a simple life and found pleasure in simple things. She loved being at home watching crime shows, British comedies, catching up on current events as well as reading, spending time with family and talking on the phone with her children and brother, Bob. Mary was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan and a music lover. She shared that love of music with her children and grandchildren. Her loving memory and strength will live on with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Grace; sister, Becky Pershing; and brother, Bob Pershing.
She is survived by her son, Michael Alan of Springfield; daughter, Lisa (Mark) Busboom; grandchildren, Kyle Seibert, Charlie and Myles Alan and Craig West; and brothers, Paul (Diane) Pershing and Jim (Mary) Pershing.
