

Mary Frances “Molly” Cody, 40, of Springfield, died at 12:20 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2006 at St. John’s Hospital. Molly was born on February 7, 1966 in Springfield, the daughter of Francis J. and Veronica M. Curtis Cody. She was a 1984 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and attended Lamar University on a golf scholarship. She was of Roman Catholic faith. She was the 1984 Springfield Women’s City Golf Champion. She also enjoyed horses and was an equestrian. Molly was a thoughtful and family oriented lady who will be remembered for her caring personality. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Francis Kevin “Bucky” Cody. She is survived by one brother: Michael Cody of Loami; one sister: Kathleen Baird of Elsah; two nieces: Christi and Jessica Cody; two nephews: Scott and Ryan Baird. Her special friend: John Terrill; two uncles: Ed and Don Curtis and two aunts: Mary Seika and Sunny Poate. Cremation accorded by the Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 9, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, where the family will receive friends. Prayer Service will be held at 4:00 p.m., with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola officiating. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2006 at Calvary Cemetery, with Rev. Msgr.
