

Mary was born on May 14, 1935, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Robert James and Lavina Hindert Casey. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1953. She married Larry Evans on July 2, 1955, in Springfield, IL. Three years after his passing, she married Anthony D’Lauro, who also preceded her in death.
She was one of the founding members of the Metropolitan Federated Junior Women’s Club in Springfield, serving as president one year. Mary was employed by the State of Illinois, including the Department of Forestry and the Department of Commerce and Community Affairs. She and her husband, Larry Evans, were one of the founding couples of the Panther Creek Country Club. Mary enjoyed genealogy, even travelling to Ireland for research. In addition to Ireland, she was well-travelled having gone to Spain, Monaco, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Germany, France, Netherlands, Bratislava, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel, Canada, and more.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Casey.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Fogel of Lakeland, FL; granddaughter, Caitlin DeVane (husband, Cory) of Dover, FL; grandson, Thomas Fogel of Lakeland, FL; great-grandson, Miller DeVane; sister, Jo Ann Adams of Land 'O Lakes, FL; stepdaughters, Kathy Strunk (Harold) of Shallotte, NC and Jane DiNola (Gennaro) of Orlando, FL; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. Sixth Street, Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023, at Christ the King, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield, IL 62704 with Rev. Clinton Honkomp, O.P. officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
