Mary Agnes Nevens

Mary Agnes Nevens, 79, of Springfield, died at 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at Hospice Home in Ft. Wayne, IN. Mary Agnes was born March 13, 1927 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of William and Agnes Hammon Crawford. She married Thomas C. Nevens in 1947 at St. Agnes Catholic Church; he preceded her in death in 1955. Mrs. Nevens was employed at the Department of Public Aid in the Fiscal Department. She retired in 1989 after 39 years of service. Mary Agnes was a member of Alpha Iota Sorority, St. Louise de Marillac Guild, Samaritans of St. John’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Home Coterie, St. Victor’s Circle, and the Cachet Club. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by one son: T. Michael (wife, Yvonne Myrick) Nevens of Los Altos Hills, CA; one daughter: Mary Ann (husband, Bryan) Flueckiger of Ft. Wayne, IN; and two grandchildren: T. Carter Flueckiger and Jennifer Lauren Flueckiger, both of Ft. Wayne, IN. Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2006 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos Ave., Springfield with Rev. Robert Jallas, celebrant. There will be a private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Hospice Home, 5910 Homestead Rd., Ft.
