Mary Ann Savage

Mary Ann Savage, 77, of Springfield, died at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. Mary was born March 30, 1937 in Alexander, the daughter of Carl and Mary Elizabeth Jarrett Gansbauer. She married Glenn Ward Savage in 1961. Mary was a graduate of New Berlin High School and retired from the State Police Academy in January 2005 after 20 years working there in administration. She was a member of the Red Hat Express of New Berlin and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events. She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Mildred; sister, Carol; and six brothers, Bob, James, Francis, John, Danny, and William. She is survived by three sons, Todd (wife, Lesley) Savage of Rochester, Troy (wife, Marcy) Savage of Springfield, and Travis (wife, Denise) Savage of Loami; seven grandchildren, Trevor, Vanessa, Maddie, Brandon, Cassie, Morgan, and Nick; one great grandchild, Saya; four siblings, Pauline Gansbauer of Tinley Park, Margie (husband, Ken) Kesterson of Wheatland, California, Darlene (husband, Gene) Bergschneider of New Berlin, Caron (husband, Ken) Kerber of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 304 W. Birch St., New Berlin, with Rev. Kevin Laughery celebrant.
