

Mary was born on March 6, 1929, in Taylorville, the daughter of Andrew and Veronica (Babich) Kruzick. She married John A. Sestak on November 17, 1956, in Springfield; he preceded her in death on January 15, 1999.
Mary was a graduate of Ursuline Academy. She retired from Illinois Bell after 42 years of service as a long-distance operator. Mary loved the St. Louis Cardinals, especially Yadier Molina. She also enjoyed the beauty of flower gardens and all music, especially that of songbirds, like the cardinal.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; eight siblings, Ann, Vincent, Joseph, John, Bernard, Phillip, and George Kruzick, and Elizabeth (Kruzick) Tobin.
She is survived by her children, Veronica (Stephen) Stalcup, Mary (Dan Connelly) Sestak, John (Kathy) Sestak, Joan Sestak, Andrew (Cari) Sestak, and Thomas (Laura) Sestak; 13 grandchildren, Holly Stalcup, Christopher (Belana Antar) Stalcup, Andrew (Casey) Santiago, Stefan Santiago, Jordan (Alex) Bruce, Jessica, Connor, Clint, Cade, Cage, Emily, and Ben Sestak, and Katie (Rich) Klinker; two great-grandchildren, Felix Santiago and Reid Klinker; sisters-in-law, Julie and Ruth Kruzick, and Mary Ann Sestak; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 16, 2021, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Rev. Peter Chineke, celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings.
