Mary Frances Sheehan

Mary Frances Sheehan, 89, of Springfield, died at 12:55 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at her home. Mary was born June 2, 1925 in Pleasant Plains, the daughter of Frank and Josephine Mahoney Hergenrother. She married James Robert Sheehan on December 26, 1949 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on July 3, 1992. Mary graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and was employed with the Central Management Systems for 20 years until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and the TRN Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family and collecting Hummel figurines. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Michelle Sheehan and Colleen Sheehan Rhoades; brother, Edward Hergenrother; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret "Peggy" and Stuart Sheehan. She is survived by her two sons, Frank (wife, Anna) Sheehan and Michael Sheehan, both of Springfield; four daughters, Barbara (husband, Bruce) Dorworth of Vacaville, CA, Kathy (partner, Loren Gandy) Calvert, Patty Erwin, and Maureen "Petie" Marsaglia, all of Springfield; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Seth Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
