

Mary Margaret Welch, 92, of Springfield, died at 6:22 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2006 at her home. Mary Margaret was born on October 4, 1913 in Petersburg, IL, the daughter of Herman and Mamie Toohey Tebrugge. She married Joe Welch on July 19, 1952 at St. Mary’s Church in Farmersville, IL; he preceded her in death. She was a member of Church of the Little Flower since 1952. She was employed at the Springfield Airport during WWII, by the State of Illinois, and as a realtor in the Springfield area. Mary Margaret was a fun and adventurous lady who enjoyed playing bridge, and world traveling, especially trips to Las Vegas and Hawaii. She was also preceded in death by one brother, George “Bob” Tebrugge and one sister, Betty Leonard. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jo Welch (fiancé, Charles DeHart) of Springfield, one sister, Barbara Gerlach of Litchfield and several nieces and nephews. The family welcomes friends to visit from 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Concelebrated Funeral Mass will be held at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Adlai Stevenson Dr., Springfield with Rev. Eugene Weitzel principal celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Petersburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Little Flower, 800 Adlai Stevenson Dr., Springfield, IL 62703.
