Maureen Murphy, 77, of Springfield, passed away at 12:37 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. Maureen was born November 17, 1940 in Springfield, the daughter of John Wilbur and Geneva Kathleen Moore Murphy. Maureen was employed at AARP in the Family Service Center for five and a half years. She also worked in local retail sales. She enjoyed music, the sounds of the ocean, acrylic painting, and reading. Maureen was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Murphy; two sisters, Patricia Allen and Betty Murphy. She is survived by two daughters, Christina C. (Jim) Morris of Springfield and Suzanna Scherf of Springfield; two grandchildren, Ean Scherf and Samantha Morris; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
