
Michael J. (Bud) Hickey, 88, of Springfield died at 11:30 p.m., Friday at Rgency He was born June 8, 1913 in New Berlin, the son of Michael F. and Nora Agnes Sullivan Hickey. He married Helen F. Riley July 11, 1942 in Springfield. Preceding him in death were his wife, Helen in 1974, two brothers, Leo W. and John R. Hickey and a sister, Agnes M. Mehlick. Mr. Hickey had been employed by Fitzpatrick Lumber Company (1933-1949), and retired from BHM Building Material(1949-1986), He was a member of St. Patricks Church (St. Katharine Drexel Parish), Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Knights of Columbus Council 364. Surviving are his daughter, Kathleen (husband, Gary) Jarvis of Springfield, two grandchildren, Kimberly (husband, Matthew) Fricke and Kristine (husband, Shane) Laurenzana, one great granddaughter, Grace Kathleen Fricke, a brother, Francis ''Franny'' (wife, Frances) Hickey of Decatur, a sister, Mary Evelyn (husband, Fred) Rechner of Springfield, and his companion Mary Knox of Springfield. Friends may call from 4-7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2001, with the Rosary at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, July 3, 2001 at St. Katharine Parish (St. Patricks Church), with the Rev. Kevin B. Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
