

Michael Lee Cowell, 52, of Edinburg passed away at 9:50 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2002 at his residence. Michael was born March 4, 1950 in Decatur, the son of Lawrence Joseph and Evelyn Corder Cowell. He married Goldie Ann on June 30, 1973 in Edinburg. He was a 1969 graduate of Stonington High School and a resident of Edinburg since 1979. He was a Superintendent for T.M.F. Construction for 7 years and a member of Carpenters Union Local # 16 for 30 years. He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Taylorville. He enjoyed classic cars and watching sports. He is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife; Goldie A.; mother: Evelyn Cowell of Taylorville; one daughter: Stephanie Ann (husband, Nick) Picco of Edinburg; three sisters-in-law: Josie, Patty and Donna; three brothers-in-law: Mike, Roger and Mark; and several cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 5-8:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2002. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2002 at Calvary Baptist Church in Taylorville with Rev. Michael Branch officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Mike Cowell Memorial Fund at Citizens Bank of Edinburg.
