Mike Parbs, 45, of Ft. Smith AR, formerly of Springfield died on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 in Ft. Smith, AR. Mike was born on October 25, 1961 in Kankakee, the son of Wilbur Parbs and Twilda Quirin- Neal. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister Lisa Yard. Mike graduated from Springfield High School and completed the Accounting program at Robert Morris Business College. While in Springfield he was employed at Federated Funeral Directors of America, and later in Arkansas at University of Arkansas – Fort Smith. Mike was an avid Cubs and Bears fan who loved spending time with his family and friends, his greatest love of all was his children. Surviving is one son, Matt Parbs and one daughter, Caitlin Parbs both of Springfield; five sisters: Claudia (husband, David) Vinsonhaler of Greeley, CO, Genelle (husband, Tim) Fillenwarth of Sibley, IL, Valerie Arnoldussen of Ft. Smith, AR, Eugenia (husband, Brad) Burwell of Omaha, NE, and Wanda (companion, Jim Harms) Parbs of Springfield; two brothers: Stanford Parbs of Lufkin, TX, and John Neal of Madison, WI; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family welcomes friends to visit for a Memorial Gathering from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Monday September 17, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
