

Mildred Rose Freitag, 78, of Pleasant Plains, passed away at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at St. Joseph's Home. Rose was born June 13, 1935 in New Berlin, the daughter of William E. and Mildred F. Moody Dippel. She married Charles W. Freitag on June 11, 1955 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church; he preceded her in death in 2010. Rose attended New Berlin High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family, as well as gardening and flowers. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Ashland. Rose owned and operated Freitag Red Fox grocery along with her family before going on to work for Quick Print Printing Company for nearly 20 years before retiring in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Francis F. Welch. She is survived by two sons, Michael Anthony (wife, Sandy) Freitag of Auburn and Gary Lee (wife, Lorelei Kay) Freitag of Taylorville; one daughter, Renee (husband, Rick) Goewey of New Baden; six grandchildren, Paul, Amanda, Brandi, Steve, Devon, and Andrew; four great-grandchildren, Lane, Lydya, Dashull, and Zoe; two sisters, Alberta Devore of Loami and June (husband, Charles) Winkler of New Berlin; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Woodwreath Cemetery.
