

She was born in Tompkinsville, KY., on November 3, 1916 the daughter of Carl M. and Flossie A. (Hurt) Abner. She married Clarence Earl “Bud” Wilson in 1947 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on May 14, 1996.
Mildred is preceded in death by a brother and sister in 1929 and another brother in 1998.
She was a member of the Eastern Star, loved to sew and cook and ran a few restaurants such as the Dixie Shop in Springfield. She was a homemaker and during the war she worked for Sangamo Electric as a timekeeper with her sister Helen.
Mildred is survived by her sisters Helen Abner and Betty Bailey (husband Daniel), and a brother William E. Abner (wife Marie). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins and her great friends of thirty-five years Crista and Larry Houser.
Per Mildred’s request no services will take place but burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL., on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Oak Terrace Healthcare Center in Springfield.
