Molly Brennan

Molly Brennan, 60, of Springfield, died on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Molly was born March 29, 1954 in Bettendorf, IA, the daughter of James Dennis and Frances Gertrude Myatt Oakey. She married James Michael Brennan on April 24, 1981 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on October 24, 2008. Molly was a 1972 graduate of Glenwood High School and was an administrative assistant for the State of Illinois for over 30 years. She was a member of the Firefighters Lake Club and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her father and one sister, Barbara Oakey. She is survived by two sons, Matthew and Michael Brennan, both of Springfield; one daughter, Melissa (Dave) Wilson of Riverton; five grandchildren, Michael and Megan Wilson, Tyler and Austin Brennan, and Emma Brennan; mother, Frances Oakey of Sun City, AZ; two siblings, Pamela Hurrelbrink of Goodyear, AZ and James (Peggy) Oakey of Peoria, AZ; two sisters-in-law, Patty (Kenny) Brennan Kress of Springfield and Pam (Tom) Maskey of Fairfax, VA; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-nieces and nephews. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Celebration of Life: The family will be hosting a celebration of life from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Firefighters Postal Lake Club, 940 W.
