Nadeen Weatherford

B. Nadeen Weatherford, 91, of Springfield, died at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Oak Terrace Healthcare Center. Nadeen was born April 18, 1923 in Springfield, the daughter of Clifford and Hazel Davenport Morgan. She married V. L. "Larry" Weatherford on May 17, 1942 in Springfield; he preceded her in death. Nadeen graduated from Springfield High School in 1940 and attended Springfield Junior College. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and sang in the New Life Choir. She also sang in the Illinois Symphony Chorus for 18 years and the Springfield Choral Society for 8 years. Nadeen volunteered for the LPGA State Farm Classic for 34 years, first as Co-Chairman and then as Chairman of the Transportation Committee, and was awarded the Volunteer of the Year award. She also served on the board of the Prairieland Voices. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dr. Irving C. Morgan. She is survived by her son, John E. "Jack" (wife, Barbara) Weatherford of Springfield; grandchildren, Jill Winner of Herrin, IL, John (wife, Dawn) Weatherford of Springfield, and Jeff (wife, Elizabeth) Weatherford of Springfield; great-grandchildren, Lakyn Winner and Zachary Winner of Carterville, Kayla Weatherford, Paige Weatherford, Ashlyn Weatherford, and Kyle Weatherford, all of Springfield; great-great-grandson, Noah Tabor of Carterville; two step-grandchildren, including John (wife, Leah) Corea of Galloway, OH and Erin (husband, Adam) Sours of Lewistown, IL; 9 step-great-grandchildren; and sister, H. Waneta Boehner of Springfield. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, 2941 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield with Rev. Dr. Roger Ross, officiating.
