

Nancy Lee Frye Anderson, 78, of Springfield, passed away at 1:12 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at her residence. Nancy was born on May 29, 1937 in Cowden, IL, the daughter of Noble Troy and Nancy Ellen Abrams Frye. She married Don Lee Anderson on April 20, 1957 in Cowden, IL. Nancy's family owned Pease's Candy for over 40 years beginning in 1975. She still often worked for Pease's when she wasn't spending time with her family or traveling, which she enjoyed very much. Nancy was an avid sports fan following the Fighting Illini, St. Louis Cardinals, and Chicago Blackhawks. Nancy also supported her grandsons in following the Chicago Cubs. She was devoted to her family and was like a mother to many. In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing with the Ladies Club at Bergen and on Fridays with the Grasshoppers. Nancy was a long-time member of South Side Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Eddie Dean Frye. She is survived by her husband, Don Anderson of Springfield; one son, Douglas Anderson (companion, Kim Cody) of Springfield; two daughters, Jan (husband, Michael) Tuchmann and Jill (husband, Tadd) Schroeder, both of Chatham; seven grandchildren, Amber (husband, Erik) Long, Courtney (fianc, Cory Musselman) Anderson, Cory Anderson, Ashton (husband, Nick) Kern, Derek (companion, Karlye Keil) Tuchmann, Taylor Tuchmann, and Megan (husband, Jason) Miner; seven great-grandchildren, Autumn, Caleb, Casey, and Audrey Long, Mason and Hallie Kern, Marianna Tuchmann, and one on the way; two brothers, Leland Troy (wife, Bonnie) Frye of Pana and Leroy Delvin (wife, Linda) Frye of Lawrenceville, IL; three sisters, Judy (husband, Bob) Lee, Carol (husband, Dave) Kepzig, and Marla (companion, Dave Baker) Geurin, all of Effingham; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016 at South Side Christian Church, 2600 S. MacArthur Blvd., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at South Side Christian Church with Pastor Brooks Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
