

Nancy was born on January 27, 1934, in Springfield, the daughter of Emil and Francis Rhodes Burdnisky. She married James L. Montgomery on January 4, 1953, in Springfield.
Nancy graduated from Lanphier High School in 1952. She worked at Lincoln Land Community College, Springfield Dry Goods, but was a homemaker and a seamstress all her life. Nancy was a member of Home Extension, Red Hat Society, and Chatham Christian Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and was very artistic and enjoyed crafting. Nancy also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, cooking, and above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Montgomery; brother, Glenn Burdinsky; and sister, Janet Hill-Anker.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 68 years, James; daughter, Cindy Hill of Chatham; grandchildren, Diana (Matthew) Lovell of Chandlerville and Cheryl Hill-Schempp of Springfield; great-grandchildren, James, Jonah, Luke, Eliana, and Ana Lovell, and Max and Caroline Schempp; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021, at Chatham Christian Church, 9897 S. Main St., Chatham. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Wenneborg officiating.
Graveside Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
