She was born on September 18, 1935, the daughter of Andrew and Grace Cloyd Foster. Nancy married Edward “Thomas” Shehan on January 26, 1958.
Nancy was quiet, unassuming, and selfless. Her family always came first. She graduated from Virden High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from Memorial School of Nursing. Nancy worked as a Registered Nurse for many years until her retirement. She also loved crosswords, cooking, painting, sewing, gardening, and the outdoors.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Jeffrey Shehan.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Thomas; sons, Derek Edward Shehan of Riverton, Aaron Paul Shehan of Roanoke,VA, and Michael (Marcia) Darrin of Sherman; her brother, Charles (Judy) Foster of Thayer; sister-in-law, Janice Shehan of Middleton, WI; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
The family is being served by Butler Funeral Homes- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
