Nellie Catherine Requarth, 98, of Springfield, passed away on August 7, 2025 at Liberty Village in Pittsfield. She was born on October 16, 1926 in Pawnee, Illinois to Frederick William Kunz Sr., and Nellie Behl Kunz. Nellie married Milton VanFossan and he preceded her in death. She then married Elmer F. Requarth on October 10, 1987 and he preceded her in death on June 21, 2014. She was preceded in death by one son Frank VanFossan and her brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Requarth is survived by one daughter-in-law Kay VanFossan as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Nellie worked as a florist for several shops in the Springfield area for many years. She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
A private burial took place at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
