

Nora Jo Lewis, 61, of Springfield, died at 5:33 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. Nora was born May 13, 1955 in Springfield, the daughter of Robert H. and Elizabeth A. Fleck Terry, Sr. They preceded her in death. She married Robert Anthony Lewis, Jr. on May 6, 1972 in Decatur; he preceded her in death on February 15, 2011. Nora graduated from Ursuline Academy, earned her associate's degree from Lincoln Land Community College, and her bachelor's degree from Sangamon State. She was employed as a nurse for over 17 years, most recently with Gateway Foundation. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Nora enjoyed cooking and collecting cookbooks, dolls, and buttons. She was a devoted mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her children, Robert (wife, Julie) Lewis III, Joel H. Lewis, and Danielle Lewis, all of Springfield, and Misty L. Lewis of Galesburg; "adopted" daughter, Barbara Allen of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Michael, Aaron, and Hailey Lewis, Jasmyn and Aaliyah Seals, Romero and Major Allen, and Yusef Terry; a great-granddaughter, Caliona Lewis and one great-grandchild on the way; one brother, Robert (wife, Renee) Terry of Springfield, IL; six sisters, Marcia (companion, Jim O'Connell) Terry, Mary (husband, Marlin) Taylor, Betty A. (husband, Dan) Terry-Rhodes, and Carla (husband, Ted) Tinsley, all of Springfield, Lori (husband, Kevin) Smock of Edinburg, and Rose (husband, Mike) Spurlock of Sherman; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
