

Norma Jean Clark, 81, of Springfield, joined her loving husband of 64 years in Heaven at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011 at St. John's Hospice, surrounded by her family. Norma was born on August 14, 1929, the daughter of John and Mabel Hohimer Luparell. She married James Edward Clark on August 15, 1946 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on October 10, 2010. Norma operated Clark's Auto Sales and was a wonderful homemaker. Her greatest pleasure in life was her family. She loved to go to garage sales, shop, dine out, and attend her son's stock car races. She also enjoyed tabloid magazines, collecting angels and loved watching American Idol. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, James Edward Clark, Jr.; a great-grandson; and two sisters. She is survived by her children, Steven (wife, Kathy) Clark, Gary (wife, Sharon) Clark, Jackie (companion, Brian) Clark, and JoAnn (husband, Michael) Heffern, all of Springfield; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Elizabeth "Sunni" Gallagher of Springfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Scott Brindley officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
