

Norman B. "Zeke" Dennison, 74, of Springfield, died at 4:15 a.m. on Monday, December 24, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. Zeke was born September 1, 1938 in Elkhart, the son of Virgil and Glenna Mae Parsons Dennison. He married Eileen Fitzgerald on February 13, 1960 in Springfield. Zeke was a meter reader for CWLP for over 25 years and was also a watchman for Norfolk Southern Railroad for over 25 years. He enjoyed baseball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved telling jokes, having coffee with friends and playing cards with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Matthew Dennison; four brothers, Earl, James, Wilbur and Robert; and four sisters, Martha, Lydia, Janet and Burl. He is survived by his wife, Eileen, of Springfield; children, Michelle (husband, Buddy) Lane of Bement, Betsy (husband, Chris) Kohlrus of Springfield, Norman Dennison of Wheaton, Mark (wife, Negretta) Dennison of Sumpter, SC, and Katherine (husband, Raj) Mohanty of Springfield; eleven grandchildren, Scott, Garrett and Brittney Lane, Adam and Corey Kohlrus, Norma Jean, Will, Elizabeth, and Lauren Dennison, Allania Hutchinson, and Jack Mohanty; one great-grandchild, Elliana Wolter; siblings, Lenard Dennison of Williamsville and Evelyn Freeman of Springfield; and one daughter-in-law, Angie Dennison of Springfield. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following visitation. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Memorial Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Zachary Edgar officiating.
