

Norman R Freeman, 70, of Springfield died at 3:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2003 at Memorial Medical Center. Mr. Freeman was born March 25, 1932 in Galatia, IL the son of Raymond Daniel and Martha Jessie Hale Freeman. He married Donna Francis on June 2, 1951 in Robinson, IL. Mr. Freeman was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He was employed for more than 20 years as an Environmental Health Specialist by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Mr. Freeman was a member of American Legion Post 32, Springfield Voiture 344, Springfield Philatelic Society, and the American Philatelic Society. He was also a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeffrey; and a brother, Vernon. He is survived by his wife, Donna; two sons: Jay of Phoenix, AZ and Todd (wife, Brenda) of Murphysboro, IL; one grandson-to-be: Harrison of Murphysboro, IL; two brothers: Donald (wife, Lydia) of Ottawa, IL, and Phillip (wife, Bonnie) of Yorkville, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2003. Funeral services will be held at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home on 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2003, with Rev. Mark Merrill officiating.
