

Novella C. Shockley, 85, of Auburn, passed away at 10:37 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Auburn Nursing & Rehab Center. Novella was born October 4, 1929 in Logan, IL, the daughter of Vice and Catherine Willet Frost. She married Lindell Shockley; he preceded her in death. Novella was employed for 35 years with the State of IL, Comptroller's Office and Secretary of State. She was also a representative for Avon. Novella was very outgoing, and a sweetheart with a stubborn side. She enjoyed crocheting, watching John Wayne movies, and doing crossword puzzles. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Carol Shockley; and son-in-law, Larry Gibbs. She is survived by her two sons, Mark "Randy" Shockley and Kelvin Shockley, both of Springfield; two daughters, Beverly Gibbs and Tamara Manier, both of Loami; one brother, James Frost of W. Frankfurt, IL; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. Graveside Ceremony: 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Loami with Pastor Timothy Moats officiating.
