

She was born January 31, 1910 in Beecher City, IL, the daughter of Frank and Mamie Phillips. In December of 1928 she married Clifford J. Cawley in Peoria, IL. She is preceded in death by her husband and three children in infancy.
Mrs. Cawley was a lifelong resident of the Springfield area. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Red Hat Society. She was a past board member and current President of the Residence Council at Auburn Nursing and Rehab.
She is survived by three daughters, Ann (husband, William) Piper of Springfield, Marilyn Preval of Springfield, and Joan (husband, Kenneth) McCrady of Divernon; four sons, James (wife, Betty Lee) Cawley, Howard (wife, Donna) Cawley, Fred (wife, Janice) Cawley, and David (wife, Ruth) Cawley, all of Springfield; 21 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and a stepsister, Gerri Jaronski of Springfield.
Visitation will be from 8:30 until the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 27 at First Christian Church. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family is being served be Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
