Pamela J. Ryan

She was born in Highland, IL on August 31, 1954, the daughter of Emmett and Alice (Osborne) Hale. Pamela married Patrick Ryan in Springfield on September 1, 2002.

Pamela attended Greenville High School and went on to work for the Department of Public Health for 15 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting with watercolor, collecting lions, music, and singing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Patrick; brother, Bobby Hale; and stepson, Frank Ryan.

Pamela is survived by her son, John (Tara) Dillon of Springfield; daughter, Brandy Smith of Indianapolis, IN; step-son, Mathew Ryan of Kincaid; seven grandchildren; siblings, Kathryn Primer of Falls of Rough, KY, Susan (Terry) Powell of Springfield, Thelma (Norman) Boggs of Rutledge, TN, Janie Brown of Springfield, and Joseph (Lovetta) Carwille of Leitchfield, KY; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial Gathering and Memorial Ceremony: Family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, until the time of the ceremony at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Roseberry officiating.

Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
