

Pamela “Pam” was born at Memorial Medical Center on October 5, 1959, the daughter of Albert and Margaret (McDermott) Wieties. She attended Ridgely Elementary Grade School, Thomas Edison Middle School and was a graduate of Lanphier High School.
Pam retired in 2012 from the State of Illinois after serving 33 years with the Illinois State Police where she served in various administrative positions. In her retirement, she enjoyed being with family and friends, in her swimming pool and with her pets. Pam was full of life and will be greatly missed by all that had the honor of knowing her.
She is survived by her companion, David Poggenpohl of Springfield; her sister, Judith Wieties McCaffrey, and brother, Larry (Becky) Wieties, both of Springfield; two nieces, Lori Ann Wieties of Springfield, and Jodie (Mark) Hovey of Spaulding; great-nephew, Ryan Hovey of Soulard, MO; great-niece, Sarah Hovey (Sam Sergent) and great-great-nephew, Jaxson Sergent, all of Springfield; two aunts, Anita Hayes and Doris Woods; and many cousins.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Private family ceremonies will be held.
