Patricia L. Gotway

Patricia L. Gotway, 81, of Springfield, passed away at 8:04 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center. Patricia was born April 25, 1930 in Delaware, OH, the daughter of Don and Mildred Kocher. She married Dr. Clement A. Gotway on April 28, 1956 in Lima, OH; and they relocated to Springfield in 1961. Patricia graduated from Lima Central High School in 1948 and earned her nursing degree from Ohio State University in 1952. She also attended Wheaton College in Oak Park, IL. Patricia worked as a nurse for 9 years and was a member of Christ the King Parish. She enjoyed ballet, figure skating, and playing bridge. She was a member of the Springfield Ballet Club, Springfield Figure Skating Club, and several bridge clubs. Patricia was a beloved friend and helper to many in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, David and George and a sister, Janelle. She is survived by her husband Dr. Clement A. Gotway of Springfield; children, Carol A. Crawford of Atlanta, GA, Susan M. Wallbrown of Glastonbury, CT, and Michael B. Gotway of Scottsdale, AZ; three grandchildren, Samantha and Stephanie Wallbrown and Allison Gotway; two sisters, Florence Lundin of Austin, TX and Linda Lape of Lima, OH. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Christ the King Parish, 1930 Barberry, Springfield with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz. Private entombment will be at Oak Ridge Chapel Mausoleum.
