Patricia Sexton

Patricia was born on December 6, 1934, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Raymond and Lila Holt Maier. She married John “Jack” Sexton on September 22, 1956, in St. Louis; he preceded her in death on April 10, 2022.

Patricia was a graduate of Rosati-Kain High School in St. Louis and attended Fontbonne College in St. Louis. She retired in 1999 from the State Board of Higher Education after a career as a secretary. Patricia enjoyed playing bridge, spending time with her friends, was an amazing cook and baker; and always a gracious hostess.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Maier.

She is survived by her children, Mary Beth Sexton of Springfield, Anne Marie (husband, David) Lawler of Auburn, Matthew Thomas (wife, Jeannie) Sexton of Overland Park, KS, and John Raymond (wife, Laura) Sexton of San Diego, CA; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

Memorial Gathering and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Christopher House, celebrant.

Private family burial will be held.
