Patricia Ann Walker

Patricia was born on March 6, 1935, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of William B. and Clara Ellen (Gruber) Burkhardt. She married Thomas Albert Walker, Sr., on November 12, 1955, at St. Peter & Paul Church. He preceded her in death on October 30, 2011.

Patricia was a registered O.R. Nurse with St. John’s Hospital. She retired in 1999. Patricia was a devout Catholic for her whole life, and she was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She enjoyed volunteering for St. John’s Breadline. Patricia was an avid reader and gardener, world traveler, and she loved animals.

Patricia was also preceded in death by her parents, and son, Thomas Walker, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Paul (Terri) Walker of Spaulding, IL, Clare (Dirk) Snow of Dallas, TX, Joseph (Olive) Walker of Dallas, TX, Mary Christine “Chrissy” (Gary) Allgood of St. Charles, MO, Karon (Harold) Finical of Carlsbad, NM, William (Maryann) Walker of Springfield, IL, and Ann (Carlos) Baca of St. Louis, MO; siblings, William (Tomi) Burkhardt of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Katrina Burkhardt of Miami, FL, and Luan Burkhardt of Springfield, IL; uncle, Ron Gruber of Lake Kiowa, TX; nineteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut St., Springfield, with Rev. Jeff Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
