Patsy Dorr

Patsy Dorr, 71, of Springfield, passed away at 6:45 a.m. on Monday, September 20, 2010 at St. John's Hospice. Patsy was born July 28, 1939 in Springfield, the daughter of Alvin and Anna Refine Richards. She married Robert E. Dorr on November 12, 1960 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Springfield. Patsy was a 1957 graduate of Lanphier High School. When she retired from Horace Mann Insurance Company after 42 years of service, she was the secretary of the company. Patsy enjoyed golf, playing cards, traveling and was an avid Cardinals fan. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Ronald, Kenneth and Alvin Richards. Patsy is survived by her husband, Robert Dorr of Springfield; daughters, Anna-Marie (husband, Clay) Staton of Wheaton and Laura (husband, Bill) Venvertloh of Springfield; grandchildren, Bobby Dorr, Chris Venvertloh, Nicole Venvertloh and Chip Venvertloh; siblings, Judy Unthank of Springfield, Janet (husband, Chuck) Braatz of Lansing, MI, Wilma (husband, Dave) Heineman of Chatham and William Richards of Auburn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 24, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Deacon Al Laabs officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
