

Paul J. Bordignon, 77, of Springfield, died at 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at St. John's Hospital. Paul was born June 27, 1936 in Springfield, the son of Paulo and Margherita Licini Bordignon. He married Mary Jane Kuchar on May 4, 1957 in Springfield. Paul was a graduate of Lanphier High School, where he was a marksman on the rifle team in high school. He also belonged to the Lefthanders Gun Club. Paul worked for Allis Chalmers and Fiat Allis and had built three homes for his family. He enjoyed hunting with his sons and traveling for work. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Bordignon; and two sisters, Bruna Zadel and Josephine Jones. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Bordignon of Springfield; five children, Greg (wife, Bernie) Bordignon of Robins, IA, Scott (wife, Carol) Bordignon of Lonsdale, MN, Lynn (husband, David Hinds) Snyder-Hinds of Springfield, Todd (wife, Kristin) Bordignon of Springfield, and Mark (wife, Cathy) Bordignon of Cedar Rapids, IA; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey, Natalie and Stephanie Bordignon, Alexa Snyder, Lynette, Jazz, Logan, Jake, and Emma Bordignon; five step grandchildren, Ashley, Chelsea and Taylor Westbrook, and Nick and Hannah Hinds; one stepbrother, Art Frescura of Florida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Gary Winkleman officiating.
