

Paul Ramon Oberreiter, known to many as “Paulie,” passed away on June 30, 2024, at the age of 52. Born on September 10, 1971, in Springfield, Illinois, Paulie was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend whose vibrant personality and infectious humor left a mark on all who knew him.
A dedicated laborer by trade, Paulie was known for his hardworking spirit and unwavering dedication to his work. Yet, it was his ability to light up any room with his unique humor and goofball antics that truly set him apart. Paulie had a gift for making people laugh, ensuring that time spent with him was never boring.
Paulie was an avid football and NASCAR fan, often found cheering on his favorite teams and drivers. He cherished time spent with his children, whether it was fishing, attending dirt races, or supporting their sporting events. Apart from spending his time surrounded by friends and family, Paulie loved working on his motorcycle, crafting model ships, and watching his favorite Indiana Jones movies.
Paulie is survived by his wife, Heather Oberreiter. He leaves behind his loving children: Lauryn Thornton, Jakob Oberreiter, Bryce Oberreiter, Brayden Oberreiter and Haley (Rickie) Smith. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Sherer, his father, Charles (Jean) Oberreiter, his sisters Marsha Oberreiter, Carrie (Mark) Smith, and Mindie (Jeff) Nesch, his nephews and nieces, Kenny Eskew, Carter Tucker, Mikayla Oberreiter, Carlie Smith, Riley and Tinley Nesch. He is also survived by his grandchildren Klayton and Karli Kruse and Kallie Smith.
To honor Paulie’s memory, a gathering will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Bisch & Son Funeral Home, located at 505 E. Allen St., Springfield, IL 62703. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate the life of a man who was truly one of a kind.
Paulie’s joyous spirit, boundless energy, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy of laughter and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
