

Paula will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her husband, Stephen Iden; her son, Jody (Lindsey) Alford; her two grandsons, Rowan and Theodore Alford; her three sisters, Amie Rainfish, Lillian Davis, and Rhoda Lyn Halverson; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves great memories and much love for her extended family and the many friends made over her lifetime. Preceding Paula in death are her parents, Paul and Dorothy (Brown) Bumber.
Paula was born August 26, 1968, in Joliet, IL. She grew up and attended schools in Hanford, CA, Romeoville, IL and Joliet, IL. Paula later attended college where she studied Botany and Genealogy. Paula was a beloved member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she performed a 2 year service mission as a family History genealogy worker and advisor. Afterward, she became a family history and genealogical consultant.
Paula believed in family more than anything and in enjoying life. She loved to travel, read, and cook. Paula was a skilled knitter, genealogist, and gardener. She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her enthusiasm for life, intelligence, wit, and laughter touched all of us who had the privilege to know her.
Paula will be cremated and her ashes will be buried at Roselawn Memorial Park in a private event as she requested.
Paula’s family and friends will host a Celebration of Life Ceremony at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint, 3601 Buckeye Drive, Springfield, IL, 62712 with Bishop Hansen officiating.
