

Pearl Vespa Davis, 95, passed away on March 27, 2011 at Sunny Acres Home in Petersburg. She had been a lifelong resident of Springfield. Pearl was born November 6, 1915 in Springfield, the daughter of Domenico and Concetta Rosati Baliva. She married Vincent J. Vespa on May 5, 1935 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on January 5, 1959. She married E. Fred Davis on October 13, 1962 in Springfield; he also preceded her in death on September 18, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a step mother, Assunta Baliva; and five siblings, Mario, Frank, Ralph, Evaldo, and Lydia. She is survived by her daughter, Connie (husband, Glen) Janssen of Valparaiso, IN; her son, Ralph James (wife, Gina) Vespa of Athens; three sisters, Pia Kuhn, Connie Rath and Corrie (husband, Lou) Polino; nine grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at St. Cabrini Catholic Church, 1020 N. Milton Ave., Springfield with Rev. Richard L. Chiola, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
