

Pearl Mary Long, 95, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday May 9, 2013 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. She was born on January 25, 1918 in Columbia, IL, to Adam and Anna Koskubar Reichert. She married Theodore Range on November 24, 1935 and he preceded her in death in 1952. She then married Marvin H. Long on January 24, 1976 in Belleville, IL and he survives.
She is also survived by three daughters: Gloria (Cletus) Blaes of Belleville, IL, Bonnie (Dennis) Hettenhausen of Glen Carbon, IL, and Darlyn (Darrell) Maisel of St. Peters, MO, forty three grandchildren and great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and her son-in-law James Richard Foss of Edgington, IL. She was preceded in death by three sons: Wayne Range, Roger Range, and Warren (Jack) Range and one daughter-in-law Judith K. Foss, one son-in-law Terry Marvin Long, nine brothers: Elmer, Edward, Wilbert, Isadore, Jacob, Alban, Thomas, Adam and Victor Reichert, and three sisters: Laurine Reichert, Adele Beiber, and Jeanette Gurlach.
Mary loved gardening, crocheting, and oil painting landscapes. She was a member of the Central Illinois Grasshoppers playing over one hundred golf courses across the United States with her husband Marvin. And she was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Parish. The family would like to extend a special "Thank you" to all of Mom’s caregivers over the years.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday May 13, 2013 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos Ave. with Fr. Robert Jallas officiating and burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 9:30am until the time of funeral Mass Monday at church.
