

She was born in 1933, the daughter of Melvin and Helen Parsons.
Peg graduated from Springfield High School, attended Blackburn College, and earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of Illinois.
In 1954, she married Donald Ferry and upon graduation, returned to Springfield.
Always involved in the community, Peg volunteered with many civic organizations. She was a member of PEO Sisterhood, King’s Daughters, Sunnyside Circle, and the Island Bay Yacht Club Race Committee.
She served on the boards of many charitable organizations including Junior League, Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery, Springfield Old Capitol Art Fair, and Springfield Art Association.
Peg was devoted to her family, was a fierce friend, an avid reader, and a Scottie lover. Her home was always open to her kids’ friends who needed a meal or a place to crash. Ever the optimist, you never saw Peg without a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. She loved everything about life—except oatmeal!
Peg was preceded in death by husband, Don and son, Tom.
She is survived by children, Mark (Coleen), Bruce (Lori) and Lisa Hills (Mike); four grandchildren Elizabeth, Katherine and Will Ferry and Lauren Ferry Mack; brother, Chuck Parsons; sister, Patricia Farley; and several nieces and nephews.
Family services will be held at The Point in Wisconsin.
