Polly Ann Hayes

Polly Ann Hayes, 87, of New Berlin, passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Polly was born September 14, 1929 in Marshall, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Felicia Dean Lowry. She married Howard C. Hayes on April 5, 1953 in Marshall, IL. He preceded her in death on February 7, 2017. Polly graduated from Marshall High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University. She was employed as a Business teacher for 36 years for the Tri-City, Auburn and New Berlin school districts. Polly enjoyed cooking, gardening, was an avid bird watcher, and enjoyed going to sporting events. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers; Robert Lowry, Donald Lowry, and James Lowry. She is survived by her daughter, Felicia (Matthew) Burns of New Berlin; grandchildren, Annie, Cameron, and Janie Burns; two nieces, Roberta Meyer and Donna Lowry Gilmore; one nephew, Allen Lowry; and many cousins. Funeral Ceremony and Visitation: 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home, 714 East Gibson, New Berlin, with Rev. Anthony Bliss officiating. Visitation will follow until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2017 at Zion Cemetery in Marshall, IL with Pastor Paul Cooper officiating.
