Priscilla Lane McCrary

Priscilla was born July 28, 1944, in Durham, NC, the daughter of James Cary and Marie Harris Dennard. She married Preston McCrary on July 11, 1964, in Springfield, IL.

Priscilla was employed with St. John’s Hospital as a nursing tech until her retirement in 2006 after 35 years of service. She was a member of 2nd Timothy Baptist Church where she was on the funeral committee and served as a past president of the Missionary Circle. Priscilla enjoyed cooking, baking, attending Broadway plays, and going on cruises. Priscilla loved her church, caring for her family, and serving her community.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Angela Marie McCrary.

Priscilla is survived by her husband, Preston McCrary of Springfield; sons, Jeffrey McCrary of St. Louis, MO and Lamond (Tabitha) McCrary of Springfield; daughters, Lynette (Robert) Lewis of Springfield and Joycelyn McCrary of St. Louis, MO; and grandchildren, Raymond McCrary, Mackenzie (Mady) Stone, Terece, Tasia, Lamond, Jr., and Taneece McCrary, and James Williams, Jr.; several great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:00 until 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 2nd Timothy Baptist Church, 1122 East Pine St., Springfield, IL. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Roy Newman officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
