Ralph Crane Hahn

Ralph was born November 9, 1927 in Springfield, the son of Lindsay Ralph and Amanda Crane Hahn. He married Nancy P. McHugh on July 2, 1988 in Springfield.

Ralph received his civil engineering degrees from University of Illinois Champaign and founded Ralph Hahn and Associates in 1961. Ralph served on the Board of Trustees at University of Illinois from 1967-1991, Illinois Symphony Orchestra Board of Trustees, and the Dana Thomas House Board of Trustees. He was an active member of the Sangamo Club and Illinois Society of Professional Engineers. He enjoyed good food and good wine and spending time with his family, including Shady.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hahn of Springfield; two sons, Lindsay Hahn of Springfield and Charles (wife, Laura) Hahn of Champaign; one daughter, Alice (husband, Tim) Hahn Gosling of Charlbury, England; and six grandchildren, Jenna, Leanne, Elizabeth and Andrew Hahn, Ella and Katy Gosling.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 South Grand Ave. West, Springfield.

Funeral Ceremony: 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Gregory A. Tournoux officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
