Randall R. Hart

He was born February 5, 1947 in Jacksonville, the son of Howard and Norma Hart. On April 8, 1972 he married Ellen Wright in Cartersville, GA.

While growing up Randy and his family were members of the Springfield Ski and Boat Club. He graduated from Springfield High School and Bradley University where he ran cross-country and track. He attended Bradley University on an athletic scholarship and was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity.

He served four years active duty in the U.S. Navy and then went on to serve 22 years in the reserve retiring as a Commander in the Navy Seabees.

Randy was the owner and President of Springfield Overhead Door/Hart Construction Supple Inc. His family founded, owned and operated the business for more than 50 years.

Some of his memberships include Associated General Contractors, Sangamon County Sheriff’s Passe, Illinois State Stock Horse Association and Illinois Foxtrot Horse Association.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen Hart of Petersburg; three children, Aaron (wife Janelle) Hart of Washington, IL Pamela Hart of Valparaiso, IN, and Tamara Hart of Tulsa, OK. H was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008 from 5 to 7 pm at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, February 27.at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
