Raymond “Sam” Heinen, 90, of Springfield, died at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Home. Raymond was born October 14, 1917 in Springfield, the son of Peter J. and Amelia Pauline Zeune Heinen. Raymond retired in 1977 from Prairie Farms Dairy after 33 years of service. He was a lifelong resident of Springfield, a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and enjoyed golfing and watching baseball games. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Christine Heinen; two sisters: Savilla C. Schaive and Helen Young; five brothers: Richard A., Phil, Joe, Charles and Vincent R. Heinen. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1345 N. 6th St., Springfield on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 with Rev. Msgr. Thomas P. Holinga, V.F. celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
